Aliva UK creates bespoke facade combination for boutique hotel's penthouse

Aliva UK created a bespoke facade for the penthouse of Leven Hotel in central Manchester, combining squirrel grey aluminium rainscreen cladding with EWI and Victorian green ceramic slips. The gradient of the 84-degree slope gives the aluminium cladding a trapezoidal contour, adding to the unique appearance of the building that retains its place in the neighbourhood.

Bellway Homes has relocated to a new purpose-built headquarter office building. With light and spacious office space, the move was the perfect opportunity to support the company’s growth. The facility houses 100 staff members and include high-spec welfare facilities including a gym and a roof terrace. Benefitting from a rich landscape setting with long ranging views through 360 degrees, the overall design concept was to create a park.

ALUK RIBA APPROVED CPDS AVAILABLE ON DEMAND

Aluminium systems company AluK is now offering its RIBA approved CPDs on demand – either at its Shoreditch Design Studio, at architects and specifiers’ own offices, or online. There are currently two options available ‘Aluminium Curtain Wall Design: A Technical Guide’ and ‘Approved Doc L 2021: Impact and Actions for Aluminium Window and Door Performance.’ Both have been created to support architects with expert advice.
