Hush have provided their Hush 10Kg Barrier Mat in the roof of the New Huntington Primary School in Chester.
The Acoustic concern for the school was ‘noise break in’ which is caused through issues such as rain noise that could distract the children from learning.
Hush Barrier Mat is a vinyl sound barrier mat loaded with naturally occurring minerals.
The product is free of lead, unrefined aromatic oils and bitumen.
It is designed to improve the sound insulation of existing panels of metal, wood, plastic etc. at all frequencies.
The mat is normally fixed in intimate contact with the original panel, hush barriers are particularly effective in overcoming coincidence dip resonance found in stiff lightweight composites such as plywood sheets and hollow core panels.
1100 sheets of Hush 10 kg Barrier Mat was applied to the roof in 3 layers, to give a mass of 30 kg/m2 and improving acoustic performance across all frequencies.
The Hush 10kg Barrier Mat helps to achieve all UK Building Regulations including Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland) as well as the Code for Sustainable Homes Development.
