2 Sika Trocal projects nominated at NFRC awards

As fast-track construction and complex roof detailing becomes the norm, specifiers require simple and cost-effective single ply membranes that are proven to perform. Demonstrating the company’s ability to overcome the most challenging applications, two Sika-Trocal projects were nominated in the Single Ply category of the NFRC UK Roofing Awards 2015.

Offering a proven track record and designed with an efficient installation in mind, Sika-Trocal’s single ply membranes are ideal for both new-builds and refurbishments. When two projects required complex detailing and a fast application, Sika-Trocal provided the perfect solution at a Lancashire further education college and a private home in West London. At Lancaster and Morecambe College, a Fully Adhered Type SGK membrane from Sika-Trocal was applied by MAC Roofing to re-cover an existing roof as part of a £15 million redevelopment. For the second phase of the project, the renovation of a complex 3000m2 domed roof situated on Block A of the campus required a high performance and flexible membrane.

On a smaller scale but with an equally challenging design, a new-build four bedroom house in Hammersmith incorporates a unique roofing solution. Designed to accommodate restrictions on the use of exterior windows in the perimeter wall, the roof included seven pyramids of varying sizes with a vaulted roof light in each section. Despite the complexities of both applications and the challenging deadlines, the new Sika-Trocal roofing system was delivered to an exceptionally high standard. As the company’s latest NFRC-nominated project, the Lancaster and Morecambe College and Hammersmith home projects further enhance Sika-Trocal’s reputation for delivering exceptional waterproofing and roofing solutions.
