A Manchester home uses Dekton Arga’s luminosity to break away from the dominant dark tones

The customer wanted to renovate their home in Manchester, UK, to create a modern and functional living space that would meet the needs of their growing family. Interior design studio Faye Robinson Interiors was faced with the challenge of “finding a surface that would meet the customer’s aesthetic and functional requirements, whilst being durable enough to withstand the demands of a busy home.”

Areas such as the bar counter, the laundry room or even the original shelving integrated into the living room bookcase – which forms part of the TV unit –, required careful consideration. And after consulting with the customer, they chose Dekton Arga for all these surfaces, a colour with which they also provided continuity to the different spaces in the home.

Stunning yet practical interiors
“Our aim is to create stunning, high-end interiors with their own personality,” says the designer. She defines their style as relaxed luxury, with bespoke designs and materials that have a strong, elegant aesthetic and “great practical values”. And in using Dekton Arga for this project, she has taken this premise to heart.

Inspired by Taj Mahal quartzite, Dekton Arga recreates the luxury of natural stone with the properties of the Stonika collection. Its smooth cream background, with subtle light brown and gold veins, intensifies its dramatic structure. A hyperrealist graphic, with a dazzling sheen, gives depth and richness to this material. And it was precisely this contrast that determined the choice of colour.

Dekton Arga arranged vertically
The house is dominated by dark colours, for which it was necessary to create contrasts in order to highlight certain areas. For example, the bespoke dark wood bookcase that houses the TV has Dekton Arga blocks to separate its different spaces. The TV unit has a low storage area that forms the base for the shelves, which are protected by a Dekton Arga shelf that serves as the starting point for the series of vertical dividers.

Something similar goes for the bar counter. Dominated by dark tones, with recessed lighting and in the shape of a semicircle, the use of Dekton Arga provides the perfect spotlight for bottles and glasses.
