Acoustic GRG worked closely with BH&M Architects and Kingerlee to manufacture a wide range of bespoke acoustic products for different rooms and areas of Winchester college. Each area/room had a certain acoustic requirement and from GRG's knowledge and range of products a solution was manufactured from their workshop in Kent for each challenge.
RPG Flutterfree T in Oak were made and installed in the interior ceiling eaves to reduce reflections from the ceiling area. Rows of bespoke RPG Absorbers incorporating spotlights were made and fitted on the main ceiling using a suspension system. Custom made concave curved ceiling panels were designed to provide an interesting aesthetic as well as ensure good acoustic control. In the upper seating area circular RPG Absorbers incorporating spotlights were installed on the ceiling. GRG also built custom Timber Pyramids for mounting on the flat surfaces of the tiered seating to break up unwanted reflections.
On the remaining hall ceiling we custom made fabric covered ceiling screens with apertures for ventilation access and fitted RG Monoradial over the front stage area. GRG made a selection of bespoke round or rectangular RPG Absorbers in white for the ceilings, some forming clusters or spaced evenly. The round absorbors were 1400mm wide. Bespoke ceiling RPG Absorbers to compliment the area. Rectangular bespoke ceiling RPG Absorbers incorporating spotlights and apertures were used for ventilation grills. Two feature walls were created with our white acoustic RPG Harmonix G panels, this provided an acoustic and aesthetic solution for the whole area.
