Quiet shower drainage is something that is now expected in modern bathrooms. Getting the drainage components right will enhance the luxury atmosphere many strive for. However, if done incorrectly, noisy drainage will negatively impact the ambience and comfort level.

Klaus continued, “The more traditional combination of concrete and tiles is quite ineffective when insulating the sound of draining water. However, here at Dallmer, we have developed a sound insulation element that is compatible with our DallFlex drain system. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam is used to separate the drain body from the screed and considerably reduces noise.”

Dallmer’s innovative sound insulation concept is compatible with the DallFlex drain body and the CeraFloor Select shower channel. Its soundproofing capabilities provide sound insulation of 15 dB in accordance with DIN 4109 and 12dB in accordance with VDI Guideline 4100.

This solution is also compatible with the CeraWall Individual shower channel and emits 18 dB in accordance with DIN 4109 and 14 dB in accordance with VDI 4100.

Klaus added, “Our sound insulation element performs incredibly well. It is compatible with our DallFlex drain body and ten different shower channel variations, including two popular shower channels, CeraFloor and CeraWall. We tested its effectiveness on a 190mm thick reinforced concrete floor with a 95mm thick screed. The results in our test report P-BA 146/2015 revealed that the sound level was equivalent to a quiet whisper.”
