Adshel Head Office, Cluny Mews, London

Architect: Pentagram Design
Contractor: Bluestone Plc
Type of works: installation of Optima® hook-pin and cassette rainscreen systems, finished in polyester powder-coated RAL 9010.

Located at the very busy Cromwell Road/Warwick Road intersection close to Earls Court, the new head office and R&D centre for Adshel, the outdoor advertising specialists, is set to become the landmark building in the area.

Optima® hook-pin secret-fix rainscreen panels were used for the flat vertical areas which also integrated with inset windows. Sotech's cassette system was used for the shaped and sloping soffits and curved panels between floors, as projecting sunshade supports prevented the use of a curved profile.

Working closely with the architects, Pentagram Design, Sotech also quality engineered a screen of perforated cassette panels to enclose a spiral staircase on the building’s side elevation.

Despite the challenging geometry involved, welding was not required and using engineering skills to simplify the translation from initial drawing to final product ensured a distortion free, aesthetically pleasing result.
