Ahmarra Exceeds Expectations in Ministry of Housing Fire Door Test

Ahmarra Door Solutions recently supplied sample timber fire doors for Ministry of Housing testing. In 2017, the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG) announced that FD30 composite fire doors manufactured by Manse Mastador failed essential safety tests. These doors should have resisted fire for 30 minutes, however, they lasted just 15 minutes.

They were the same type of door installed in Grenfell Tower, and as such, were one of the factors blamed for the rapid spread of the blaze which led to tragic disaster.

As a result of this, the MHCLG requested that all UK fire door manufacturers must have their products tested to ensure they comply with the mandatory legal safety standards. When Ahmarra Door Solutions supplied sample timber fire doors for testing, they not only reached the required minimum, they actually lasted a full 56 minutes!

Ahmara’s doors also undergo a rigorous auditing process, carried out by BM Trada - an impartial, third-party certification body. Because of this, Ahmarra are a certified member of the BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacturer and Fire Door Installer schemes.

Each fire-rated doorset Ahmarra manufacture and install is fully complaint with Q-Mark certification. Their team are continually striving to improve product performance, delivering a range of doors you can depend on.
