The TurboChill Free Cooling Chiller has been voted ACR-News 'Air Conditioning Product of the Year 2011'.
At a star-spangled event at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea FC, London, over 300 people from all sectors of the air conditioning and refrigeration industry saw Airedale TurboChill FreeCool Chiller crowned as the Air Conditioning Product of the Year. Indeed the high efficiency and technological brilliance of the TurboChill FreeCool also saw it as a nominated finalist for Environmental Product of the Year.
Clive Parkman, Managing Director of Airedale International Air Conditioning commented, This is a fantastic accolade for Airedale International Air Conditioning and a true vindication of this products efficiency and environmental qualities and of our expertise in applying latest technology. The fact that it is the first chiller in the world to apply two such advanced technologies, Turbocor compressors and free-cooling; has been the main contributor to it winning. It is an incredible honour for the TurboChill FreeCool to win this award and I would like to thank everyone who has been involved with the product throughout its development.
More and more end users are looking for increasingly efficient air conditioning products, with decreased running costs and increased reliability. That is exactly what the TurboChill FreeCool Chiller gives them; the ultimate in energy efficient chiller solutions, with free-cooling for up to 98% of the year in the raised temperatures of a data centre environment (cumulative hours, London, UK); and energy savings of more than 55% compared with a similar sized screw chiller.
Being in the unique position of having more than five years experience developing turbocor compressor chillers, and a knowledge of concurrent free-cooling that spans over 10 years, Airedale has been ideally placed to harness both turbocor compressor technology and concurrent free-cooling in the same system. In doing so, it is considered to be the first in the world not just to apply the two technologies in the same chiller, but to design the system so the two technologies work together, making the chiller even more efficient than any other free-cooling chiller.
The TurboChill FreeCool offers superior efficiency in so many ways:
Oil-free Turbocor compressor technology
Simultaneous mechanical and free-cooling operation for maximum energy saving
EC fans offer superior efficiency and low noise
Flooded evaporator for improved full and part load efficiencies
Interactive head pressure setpoint management
Optimised coil surface area enhances free cooling capability at low ambient temperatures
Variable speed control provides exact capacity match
In-built compressor low current start (2A)
Advanced AireTronix controls management
Chiller Sequence Manager for optimisation of multiple chillers (optional)
