School Objective: Aldermoor Farm Primary School set out to improve the safety, organisation and usability of their outdoor bike storage area. With increasing numbers of pupils cycling to school, they needed a secure, weather-resistant compound that would maximise the available space without disrupting the flow of the site. Equally important was ensuring the new structure fit neatly within the exisiting base and supported the school's emphasis on active travel. By replacing the previous shelter and upgrading capacity, the school aimed to create a reliable, long-lasting storage solution that pupils and staff could depend on throughout the year.

NBB Outdoors’ Solution: NBB Outdoors designed and installed a bespoke single-sided Kimmeridge Cycle Compound tailored to the site constraints identified during the pre-installtion survey. With the available base measuring 10,600mm x 2,550mm, the shelter was re-engineered to a revised size of L10,050mm x D1,975mm x H1,975mm to ensure a precise fit. The compound includes 13 Sheffield-style stands, providing secure storage for up to 26 cycles. The structure features a swing-open gate fitted with lock tabs and ringlets and is surface-bolted directly to the existing concrete for stable installation. Finished in Green RAL 6026 and supported by full dismantling and removal of the previous unit, the shelter provides a tailored, durable solution designed for daily school use.
