Alexandra trains with the RHA

Alexandra trains with the RHA

Whether they’re loading their own trucks or their customers, it’s Alexandra’s responsibility to ensure that every vehicle that leaves the premises are safe and secure.

The safety of the driver and all other road users is of course the primary concern, but so is making sure that the product gets to its destination in the same excellent condition it left, so that the installers can complete their work with no unpleasant surprises.

Alexandra’s membership of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) includes access to a series of valuable courses to assess and refine the operations side of their business, and the company have now completed The Practical Safe Loading of Vehicles.

The classroom part of the course focuses on legislative requirements and addresses a wide range of common potential loading errors which can lead to shifted, lost or badly damaged loads. Topics also include diminishing loads (a common issue with multiple drop offs), axle load calculations, load securing principles and safe driving of a loaded commercial vehicle

Later the course moved outside so the learning could continue using one of Alexandra’s delivery trucks, with demonstrations of what best and worst practice looked like.

The issues raised in this course are too important for any company to ignore or simply assume that they’ve already got it covered, which is why Alexandra takes any and all steps required to ensure the complete safety of any vehicle entering its site, and the products that leave with them, and will continue to use any means necessary to develop its systems and processes for the benefit of its customers.
