AliDeck recently supplied Senior Flat Board to the remediation of 179 balconies of Wood Wharf, in Canary Wharf, London, to enhance safety and durability across this high-rise development. As part of an extensive remediation programme, AliDeck partnered with Alloy Fabweld to successfully supply and install aluminium decking across this high-rise building.
Prioritising Tenant Safety Through High-Quality Remediation
Ensuring tenant safety was a key objective of the Wood Wharf project, particularly with the focus on fire safety in high-rise buildings. AliDeck’s Senior Flat Board was selected for its exceptional fire-resistant properties, fully compliant with UK regulations and achieving A2-s1, d0 and A2fl-s1 fire ratings. This non-combustible aluminium decking provided a safe, modern, and visually appealing solution that mitigated potential risks while offering peace of mind to both residents and property owners.
AliDeck’s in-house Qualicoat Standard powder coating enhanced the durability and appearance of the decking. This high-performance coating not only improved the balconies’ visual appeal but also provided superior protection against weathering, corrosion, and UV exposure. Their in-house process allowed for bespoke finishes that seamlessly complemented the building’s architectural design.
This project is another successful example of AliDeck’s collaboration with Alloy Fabweld, following previous achievements on major projects such as Manor Road Quarter and Fulton Road. Their close partnership has allowed for efficient project execution, combining Alloy Fabweld expertise in structural fabrication with AliDeck’s innovative aluminium decking systems. Together, we were able to deliver a high-quality solution that met the specific needs of the Wood Wharf development.
Reflecting on the project, Neil Windas, Senior Commercial Sales Manager at AliDeck, said:
“We are proud to have contributed to the remediation of Wood Wharf, creating safer and more secure living environments for residents. Their aluminium decking systems provide functional and aesthetic benefits while addressing the crucial issue of fire safety in high-rise developments. Working in partnership with Alloy Fabweld has enabled us to streamline their process, ensuring the project meets safety and design standards.”
