This one-for-one build project was architecturally designed but project-led by the passionate owners who sourced and researched the fenestration products personally. Alu-clad composite windows, doorsets and bi-fold doors were chosen for their maintenance-free exterior and crisp, modular lines in keeping with todays contemporary architecture, while the interior finish provides the warmth and beauty of natural wood.
The enthusiastic homeowners ended their fenestration search with a visit to Mumford & Woods purpose built manufacturing facility in Essex.
There are plenty of bi-fold door manufacturers that could have helped us but none of them could supply bespoke windows and doorsets in the same material and we werent prepared to deal with different suppliers, commented the home owner. Working with Mumford & Wood, who understood our very specific and complex brief, was quite a challenge but their attention to detail and versatile manufacturing expertise was the bespoke answer to our requirements.
This large, three-storey, five-bedroom property replaced a traditional-style bungalow and commands an enviable location in one of Englands most desirable counties. Bi-fold doors have been used extensively to the back elevation at ground and first floor levels. Natural light in our new home was vitally important to us, he continues, and opening all the bi-fold doors on the ground floor quite literally makes the house at one with the garden. It creates a great space for entertaining!
These high-performance Contemporary alu-clad windows and doorsets are available with a Tilt-and-Turn operating system, are double or triple glazed, and weathersealed for ultimate thermal efficiency. Tilt-and-Turn windows and doors meet enhanced security standards to EN1627, equivalent to BS 7950.
