The D+H Atmosphere Awards recognise pioneering projects in smoke control and natural ventilation from around the world.
Every two years, D+H Mechatronic AG present the Atmosphere Awards as part of the International Sales Meeting. This year, the coveted awards were presented in six categories: Platinum, Gold and Silver, as well as Special Mentions in the categories of Innovation and Partnership, and - for the first time ever - in the new category BlueKit (Lift Shaft Solutions).
D+H UK received the Special Mention Innovation for their work on the modernisation of Ocean Court at the National Maritime Museum, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Greenwich. Over 50 KA chain drives in the façade, as well as 16 heavy-duty DXD rack and pinion drives in the roof, provide natural ventilation and operate according to the principle of cold smoke clearance in the event of a fire.
The project marks a technological milestone for D+H UK: as one of the first projects in the UK to feature 230 V technology, a touchscreen panel and full Modbus integration, it has laid the foundations for new standards.
“I was truly impressed by the breadth and quality of the projects submitted. The fact that we were able to present six awards for the first time this year, is a striking demonstration of just how strong and versatile our global network of sales companies and service partners is. I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners and thank our teams worldwide for their daily commitment," emphasises Christoph Kern, CSO of D+H Mechatronic AG.
