Between Terminals 3 and 5 at Heathrow Airport is a fuel tank farm that now has a new automatic sliding flood gate, by Flood Control International.

Flood Control International was selected to design, supply and install the spill control gate to COMAH standards.

The flood gate automatically seals if a fuel spill is detected. Operation of the gate is by client controlled fobs or from their control room, with safety features such as safety edges and light beams in case of obstruction.

Special seals were selected to withstand the fuel types being stored on the site, and equipment within the bund is all ATEX rated.
