Client: Greenwich London Borough Council
Type of works: fitted chain actuators and control panel
Greenwich London Borough Council recently called in SE Controls when they decided to upgrade Azile Everitt House, a 13 storey block of flats originally built in 1974.
The project consists of retrofitting chain actuators to windows in common areas on all floors. Each bank of actuators is linked by a single cable back to a single OSLoop control panel from SE Controls.
OSLoop control systems work on single cable connections which are small and easier to fit into an existing building. The OSLoop system also offers actuator monitoring to determine actuator condition and correct operation, vital for maintenance of the system. Added to the system, the fire brigade requested that a repeater panel was installed at the entrance to the property giving the status of AOVs (Automatic Opening Vents).
The installed system of OSLoop controller and actuators offers a simple and highly effective solution for existing buildings to be fitted with a smoke control system.
SE Controls are working closely with Greenwich London Borough Council on ensuring other buildings owned by the council are similarly protected.
