BASF Watertight System was used to waterproof a hidden underground car park at a new, environmentally-friendly, mosque in Cambridge.
The total cost of the project is set to be in excess of £15 million and is expected to be completed in 2018.
The mosque will have two worship halls, which will able to hold around 1000 men and women in prayer.
The project includes a basement, designed as a car park with around 80 car parking spaces and constructed using the BASF Watertight System. Access to the watertight concrete basement is via a ramp.
The basement contains approximately 500m3 of the waterproof admixture MasterLife WP799. Other waterproof ancillaries were also required, including MasterSeal 910, 925 and 590.
