Client: Bedales School Architects, Walters and Cohen, selected the VITRAL roof-glazing system for their project at Bedales School. Forward thinking, Bedales aim was to create a fantastic learning environment for students, with architectural design and systems that had to meet their criteria for aesthetics, sustainability, suitability, natural light, natural ventilation and its impact on the environment. VITRALs roof-glazing played a fundamental part in delivering this criteria. Keith Budge, Headmaster at Bedales School, said: "One of our buildings finest features is the generous use of roof glass it is a delight to benefit from the natural light and to enjoy the wonderful views of the surrounding countryside from the top storey." Giovanni Bonfanti, Associate Architect from Walters and Cohen, stated: "Driven by environmental issues, natural light and ventilation were very important in our design. With a clear and clean design, VITRAL roof glazing has opening panels without extra frames; this maximises the above requirement. The system was therefore fundamental in our design from the initial concept."
