CPS Manufacturing Co has recently designed, manufactured and installed a new bench seating system to the freshly revamped lecture theatre at the London Science Museum.
The newly-named Hans Rausing Lecture Theatre, designed by award-winning practice Dow Jones Architects, is now a comfortable and modern environment which elegantly highlights the original architecture of the space. The particular bench seating design at the science museum features a bespoke front row with 4 individual tip-up seats which are designed for wheelchair users. The 144 capacity lecture theatre is now used extensively for programmed lectures, family shows and a series of newly created adult events and workshops.
Welcoming over 3 million visitors a year, the museum aims to make sense of the science that shapes our lives, inspiring visitors with iconic objects, award-winning exhibitions and incredible stories of scientific achievement. Bench seating is where CPS started back in 1966 and is a product that is still commonly requested in many prestigious venues to this day. CPS bench seating provides a high level of comfort for long performances and each system is manufactured to stand the test of time.
