The landmark Newcastle Sixth Form College, designed by RMJM, is not only providing a state-of-the-art education facility but also makes a bold and impressive design statement with a bespoke ceiling from Hunter Douglas.

Hunter Douglas worked with contractor BAM and ceiling contractor Brebur Ltd to provide stretch Metal LS8 1200mmx600mm tiles in white and grey. The tiles were specified along with linear lighting. The fine arts studio presented a particular challenge due to the sloping ceiling details but Hunter Douglas has a long track record of creating bespoke systems. The Newcastle project also required the ceilings to conceal services and provide acoustic control, as well as offer an aesthetic value and long-term solution.
