Biehler Weith Associated, Heilbronn
Client: Biehler Weith Associated
Type of works: 400m² of ALUCOBOND® was used for the outer facing.
Biehler Weith Associated, built in 1929, is an architectural office located in the town of Heilbronn, Germany.
The static impression of the old cubic edifice was reconstructed in 2007, converting it into a contemporary-looking building.
The structure of the old brick-wall building was supplemented by an external thermal insulation, and refined with an exterior plaster. By contrast, the new building is made entirely of concrete which attaches to, and extends over the structure of the old building.
In order to accentuate the character of the new building, 400m² of ALUCOBOND® was chosen for the outer facing. The seam appearance of the aluminium emphasises the dynamic edges of the new structure.
