Langley Waterproofing Systems provided its Reinforced Bituminous Membrane System for phase 3 of the Alec Hunter Academy project. Langley worked on this planned asset management roof refurbishment project, carried out in three phases, to update and give this academy a new lease of life.
A comprehensive roof condition survey identified that some roofs could be overlaid, while others had some structural issues, including two decaying Trofdeck roofs which required completely stripping back and rebuilding from joists up. Refurbishment work was carried out in phases as part of a five year asset management plan for the academy, keeping disruption to a minimum and spreading the cost.
In this third phase Langley Approved Contractor, R T Roofing Services Ltd, expertly completed eight roofs to a high standard, including new rooflights with complex detailing. The 25 year independent insurance backed guarantee provides peace of mind. Trevor Lawn, Headteacher of Alec Hunter Academy said: “We have been delighted with the project and with the outcomes so we look forward to a leak-free future for many years to come.”
