South Wales manufacturing company Brickfab celebrated twenty one years in business with a record year as sales grew 15% to top £4.25 million in 2018.
The company has grown steadily over the years to become a major supplier to the UK House Building industry of pre-fabricated building products.
Today, Brickfab employs over ninety staff and operates from two sites – Stoke on Trent and Pontypool, which is the company’s head office and 35,000 sq ft design and manufacturing centre.
Managing Director, Nigel Watkins said – “it is amazing to see the transformation of the business in twenty one years. I am not sure my colleagues envisaged that Brickfab would become such a significant business in the design and manufacture of pre-fabricated building products. We have worked hard to develop the loyal customer base of national house builders, right across the country and to prove that south Wales has the talented people to make this happen.
Finance Director, Gareth Beale said – “ the company’s growth has been consistent over the last twenty one years with the focus very much on producing a reliable profit and investing over £1,000,000 in the last few years in technology, property and transport capacity. With sales predicted to reach £5 million in 2019 and very low gearing the business is exceptionally well placed to take advantage of market opportunities that will present themselves in the next few years.”
To ensure this happens two new directors have been appointed to further strengthen the board:
Rob Allen joins as Manufacturing Director. His background is volume production as well as specialist manufacture. He joins from a Tier one supplier to the hi-tech world of F1 sport. Rob said “ this is an exciting time in the development of Brickfab and I hope my experience will enable the factories to reach their full manufacturing potential.”
Rob Evans joins the board as Sales and Marketing Director. Rob had been with Brickfab for three and a half years and has already made a significant difference to the customer proposition and the Brickfab brand. Rob joined Brickfab from a career spent largely in the corporate world and said “with the demand for our products growing, as off-site manufacture becomes the norm, Brickfab has the capability to supply that demand - I am delighted to be joining the board.”
