Briggs Equipment is set to become the national supplier of materials handling equipment to the Royal Mail Group after securing a new, multi-million pound, contract.
The leading service provider and distributor of Yale Europe Materials Handling Equipment overcame stiff competition to secure the deal that will see it supply around 600 trucks to Royal Mail and Post Office depots across the UK.
The mixed fleet will include electric, diesel and LPG counterbalance trucks as well as a range of warehouse equipment.
Chris Meinecke, Chief Operating Officer at Briggs, commented: We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Royal Mail Group and look forward to delivering real added value to their operations. This is a high-profile contract in a very competitive marketplace and the Briggs team are really looking forward to working pro-actively with the group, who will have a dedicated Briggs team to manage all aspects of their fleet operations.
In addition to supplying and maintaining the machines on a long-term hire agreement, Briggs will also be responsible for the service and maintenance of the Groups existing, purchased, equipment.
Chris continued: The contract also re-enforces our position as one of the countrys leading providers of comprehensive materials handling solutions, backed up by a nationwide network of experienced service engineers.
