Broxap manufacture and install an architectural glazed canopy structure at the newly rebuilt Francis Combe Academy.
The works at the academy are to provide the school with 1350 new places and are a mixture of new build and refurbished development.
In his initial designs architect Behrouz Schomali envisioned a canopy featuring an EFTE roof. Broxap along with designers Kier and ACP brought this vision to life.
The canopy is a single-roofed, mono pitched structure using over 1200m2 of glass.
A crane, situated 100m away and on the other side of the building, was used to install the sections and glazing was installed via a mechanical lift.
With the first phase being installed within 6 weeks, the installation was complete on-time and within budget.
