Known by many architects and specifiers for their iconic recycled paper notice boards, Sundeala Ltd are excited to announce their newest innovation: Sundeala HD.

Sundeala HD is a medium board, manufactured from 100% natural materials and uniquely uses a wet manufacturing process that makes it completely free from concerns about the carcinogenic dust particulates or VOC and formaldehyde air concentrations associated with dry-process wood fibre boards.

The culmination of years of R&D in association with Bangor University KTP and Innovate, Sundeala HD combines Green Chemistry and bio-nanocomposite production techniques to engineer a high performance medium density fibreboard.

Sundeala HD is a huge boost for the UK’s move toward the Circular Economy, with every sheet helping to reduce the country’s cardboard waste problem while providing to construction and manufacturing a uniquely sustainable product that is versatile, durable and can be recycled in the UK at the end of life into a brand-new board.

As with their K and FR ranges, Sundeala HD continues to use only UK sourced cellulose fibres for production and is committed to a genuinely zero waste production process. With a natural, inherent fire resistance and impressive strength and elasticity properties, this pioneering sheet material will support a wide range of applications from wall panels to furniture manufacturing. It is already in use by Sundeala in their Writing Wall product, loved by universities across the country as a seamless continuous whiteboard or chalkboard surface and trials are underway for a multitude of other products.
