Building Schools for the Future

Building Schools for the Future

Sutton-in-Ashfield, UK: September 2008 - UK Sales Director, Paul Wilson has this month officially unveiled a newly formed team dedicated to the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) development programme.

The Government funded initiative is the largest ever investment into school buildings. The aim is to rebuild or renew nearly every secondary school in England over the next 15 years.

The programme will take place in "waves" through Local Authorities and by 2016 every authority in England will have received funding to build or remodel at least three schools in its area.

The project was uncovered by our Lead Management Coordinator, Pat Wilson, along with the Scottish equivalent, Scottish Future Trust (SFT), which is yet to formally start but aims to upgrade schools in Scotland.

Both BSF and SFT have vast potential for Abacus to supply, install and maintain exterior lighting for car parks, pathways and sports and also walkways and canopies.

As a result a dedicated team has been put together headed up by Paul with Neil Johnson handling lighting design and Tony Staten dealing with contracts, along with David Lister, Luke Adams and James Brunt looking after regional sales across England, Wales and Scotland.

A specific BSF leaflet has been published along with a new web page to support the team and further enquiries.
