Cast stone architectural features to match adjacent properties

Cast stone architectural features to match adjacent properties

An unusual new house build which essentially extended an existing terrace block. The Architect’s brief required high quality UKCSA standard cast stone that resembled the Victorian detailing of the original terrace. Using UKCSA member Procter Cast Stone products including cills, heads, jambs, mullions, highly detailed feature units, string courses and door and window surrounds, replicating those on the existing properties.

There was an obvious need to replicate the architectural features on the existing properties, and for this, carefully taken dimensions and profiles proved essential for the creation of the new detailed stones required. From there, it was a case of generating CAD drawings for each item, with Procter’s own craftsmen making exact moulds ready for the production process. Each hand-made piece was then checked for accuracy and sent to site for incorporation in to the build.
