CEP Ceilings chosen for £2.5m Woodchurch High School Development in Wirral

Client: Wirral Borough Council
Type of works: Supply of 5,000 sqm of CEP Ceilings Classcare Perforated and Cleancare tiles

Chosen by Wirral Borough Council as the BSF Single Pathfinder School for Wirral, contractor Kier Northern have completed the £25million new build Woodchurch High School. The new school provides state of the art facilities for over 1300 pupils, 100 teaching staff and 150 support staff. The local community will also be able to make use of the new facilities on offer.

Some 5,000 sqm of CEP Ceilings Classcare Perforated and Cleancare tiles were specified by contractors Kier Northern and installed by subcontractor Mansell Finishes to create a clean and contemporary finish throughout the school. All tiles were installed on CEP’s exposed grid systems.

CEP Classcare perforated tiles are manufactured from a high density baseboard, some 60% greater than traditional mineral tiles. This enables the tiles to offer enhanced acoustic performance, durability and reduces the level of damage incurred during installation and maintenance.

Cleancare has been designed for where a high level of hygiene is paramount. The strong vinyl face is designed for easy, regular cleaning and the robust gypsum plasterboard core ensures a high level of resistance to damage.

CEP Ceilings Ltd offers a full range of suspended ceiling and acoustic systems as well as GRG mouldings from their UK bases manufacturing sites in Frome and Stafford and are currently supplier of the year to Kier Northern.
