Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre

Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre

Client: Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre
Type of works: Supply and installation of Hunter Douglas 300c Linear aluminium ceiling panels.

The £40m Wates redevelopment and refurbishment of Chelmsley Wood Shopping centre sees the creation of an additional 128,000 sq ft of retail space including a new Supermarket, refurbished Malls and new entrances.

The internal and external ceiling areas feature 800m2 of Hunter Douglas 300c Linear aluminium panels suitable for both applications. The long panel lengths of the Wide Panel range are ideally suited to more expansive ceiling projects as the panel width of 300mm and lengths of up to 6m mean fewer joints are required. In addition the 300c Linear panels offer rapid installation and the concealed suspension system complements the clean appearance, creating a sleek monolithic look.

The 300c aluminium panels can be supplied straight or curved with the wide panel system offering a variety of edge details. Curved ceilings can add a twist to the traditional in concave, convex or undulating forms, the panels being installed on a segmented carrier suspension system facilitating easy transition from straight to curved using the same panel. Sustainability issues are also addressed as recycled content of the Wide Panel range reaches up to 95%. Additionally all Hunter Douglas ceiling panels are factory cut to size to significantly reduce on-site cutting and waste.

Hunter Douglas has developed ceiling systems to maximise design versatility offering industry leading panel sizes, options and colours.
