Client: Clarendon Hotel
Type of works: supply of a TORMAX SLIDEDOOR TEP.IP65 drive unit.
Exposed to the elements, the prestigious Clarendon Hotel overlooking Blackheath Common now welcomes arriving guests with efficient and reliable bi-parting automatic sliding doors powered by an IP65-rated operator from TORMAX UK Ltd.
Deliberately engineered to withstand the effects of strong winds, the high-torque TORMAX SLIDEDOOR TEP.IP65 drive unit incorporates cutting edge technology that successfully combines efficient door operation with low energy consumption. Further reducing the carbon footprint of the doors, simple key-pad programming incorporates features such as a winter opening function to make it easy for staff to reduce hold-open time in adverse conditions. Corrosion resistant for longevity, the stainless steel operator is impervious even to a direct jet of water, making it capable of withstanding all weather conditions.
Built in the 18th Century the Clarendon Hotel now features an all-glass lobby area giving easy access for luggage-laden guests. The glass entrance originally featured automatic swing doors, explains Lin Jones, PA to Director at the Hotel, but they were not entirely reliable in adverse weather conditions. The recently installed IP65 TORMAX sliding doors are proving an extremely efficient solution.
Reducing on-going maintenance requirements the TEP.IP65 features a self-learning processor-based control system that adapts operation in response to continuous diagnosis.
The TORMAX TEP.IP65 operator allows automatic sliding doors to be installed in almost any environment and has proven its reliability in locations such as saunas and refrigeration units. Being dust-proof it is also the ideal solution for commercial kitchens and operating theatres for example, where strict hygiene is imperative.
