Type of works: installation of Stannah Midilift.

Stannah installed a Stannah Midilift vertical platform lift in the Clarks Shoe Shop in The Dolphin Centre, Poole, Dorset. The brief was to enable shoppers of all mobility levels to be able to access any footwear that takes their fancy.

This three-stop lift helps customers move freely about the split-level ground floor whilst opening up the first floor children’s department. It features easy-to-use, constant-pressure buttons and joystick, slip-resistant floor and a sensitive safety edge that will stop the lift automatically should an obstacle impede it. Finished in Matt White to complement the monochromatic store décor, the lift operates within its own structure-supported enclosure and fully-glazed shaft, with a ramp to ease entry and exit to the rear of the ground floor.

Store Manager, Susan Jewer, said: “The Stannah Midilift has brought freedom of movement for all our customers, whatever their mobility restriction, be this a busy mother with a bag-laden pushchair or a wheelchair user. By increasing customer independence, staff are free to give a better service, so everyone benefits by having this lift on board.”

Stannah’s ranges of access wheelchair lifts help premises comply with the DDA, BS 8300 and Building Regulations Parts M and S to cover England, Wales and Scotland.
