Tony Ford, project manager at Leaderflush Shapland recently completed the coast to coast walk, travelling 192 miles from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire over 14 days, raising over £4,000 for Cancer Research UK. Tony walked in memory of his wife Margaret Ford, who was diagnosed with cancer last year and sadly passed away a few weeks later. The couple were married eight days short of 30 years. Tony and Margaret often used to holiday around the Whitby area and talked about doing the coast to coast walk when they retired. Mr Ford said knowing he was doing the walk in Margarets memory would inspire him throughout the trip.
