Colours on display at gallery

A group of London-based female artists has created an entire exhibition based around reactions to colour – with help from Crown Paints. Based around reactions to colour – with help from Crown Paints, South London Women Artists (SWLA) created a series of artworks using Crown Paints as part of the Colourswatch project.

Crown Paints’ Pure Paint ® swatches, featuring groups of tones, were randomly put into blank envelopes and given to 41 members of SWLA who then had to create artworks based on their reactions to the colour. Peter Keay, curator for the exhibition, commented "Crown Paints’ support of the project was invaluable. The donation of the paint swatches allowed us to ensure the artists received a wide variety of colours and tones".

The exhibition covers a period of over 2 weeks, with a series of works shown from around 41 artists on display.
