Construction Specialties’ interior wall protection solutions were specified for the new A&E department at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, ensuring long-term durability and hygiene in high-traffic areas.
The £15 million redevelopment of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’s Accident & Emergency (A&E) department offers advanced features, including private resuscitation bays, dedicated children’s areas, state-of-the-art X-ray rooms, and a bereavement suite.
Construction Specialties (CS) provided Acrovyn wall protection solutions to help maintain the facility’s durability and hygiene standards. In high-traffic areas, Acrovyn Sheet and HRB-20 hand/crash rails were installed for impact resistance, while vibrant, bespoke Acrovyn by Design wall coverings were used in paediatric spaces.
External corners throughout corridors were protected with corner guards, colour-matched to the wall coverings for an unobtrusive look. Door face and edge protection solutions were also provided for doors in areas most vulnerable to damage.
These measures ensure the new A&E department remains both functional and welcoming for patients and staff. Discover more about this project here.
