Cornish-style houses, Gorseinon, South Wales

Client: City and County of Swansea Housing Department
Contractor: Jistcourt Contractors
Type of works: supply and installation of Celuform's PVC-UE fascias and soffits.

An ongoing project to refurbish Cornish-style houses in South Wales features Celuform low-maintenance fascia and soffit.

Ninety dwellings at Gorseinon, near Swansea, have had aging timber rooflines replaced with Celuform PVC-UE products.

Den Thomas, Area Maintenance Manager for the City and County of Swansea Housing Department said, "The refurbishment of these properties is part of a major scheme in the area. The finished houses and flats look great and tenants have been very pleased and complimentary.

"Much of the timber was beyond repair and the local authority was looking for a low-maintenance alternartive that would all but eliminate repair costs," said Gareth Roderick, Celuform's local Sales Manager.

By using Celuform's cellular plastic, the local authority's target to minimise ongoing maintenance has been satisfied. Timber has to be treated and painted on a regular basis, wheras Celuform products have a 15-year guarantee against rot, fading and yellowing.

The work at Gorseinon has been undertaken by Jistcourt Contractors of Port Talbot.
