Since the beginning of the government‘s COVID-19 lockdown measures, the CIS Research team have been working tirelessly to engage with our substantial network of industry contacts to establish the state of play in the construction industry. Over the last 10 weeks their researchers have conducted an extensive exercise focusing on all construction projects in excess of €5m that were On-Site pre COVID-19 to establish when these will recommence.

They have conducted this research with the aim to provide as much information for customers to help you get back on track right from the off, to target the available opportunities, get in touch with the right people, build a pipeline and make those all-important business decisions.

Their researchers have established that 575 projects worth over €5m were On-Site pre-COVID-19 and that there is an intention for 237 of these projects to recommence work On-Site from the 18th of May. Due to many offices being completely closed, and with many senior management decisions yet to be made, the research team will continue to reach out on an on-going basis to these remaining companies and will update this list as and when the information becomes available.

From the infographic below you will notice that the majority (56%) of projects recommencing are residential developments which will be crucial in increasing that much needed supply. Looking at the regional breakdown the majority of projects are located in the Leinster region (79%).
