Crown’s panel of six colour experts have identified three core colour trends for next season. The team determines key colour influences each year by assessing and interpreting current and future global trends.
The three core colour trends are ‘Saturated’, ‘Washed’ and ‘Midnight Garden’, each with their own distinctive look. The three trends include a palette of signature colours and supporting accent tones together with more neutral hues and is about how the colours interact with each other together to create a fresh space.
‘Saturated’ colours are intensified and infused together to create something that feels unreal. Vivid greens, saturated reds, burnt oranges and an intense blue are featured in the palette that shows a complete disregard for the rules.
‘Washed’ is a quiet, contemplative palette of muted hues. Soft faded lilacs, greens, blues combine with neutral cream to create the palette.
Characterised by deep and moody tones, The ‘Midnight Garden’ trend is paired with dusky highlights and is designed to be a celebration of nature at night.
Kathryn Lloyd colour specialist at Crown Paints said: “Colour is intrinsic to any interior design. Whether specifying a colour scheme for a large-scale project or working with individual clients, it’s useful to have a good understanding of the trends which are likely to shape the future of our homes and public spaces. This is why we put so much emphasis to bring together the latest colour influences.”
