Pescod Square Shopping Centre needed a waste management system that was both practical and visually appealing. The solution came in the form of two custom recycling bins finished in striking navy blue.
The Derby Quad Recycling Bin was designed as the primary solution, featuring four distinct waste streams with clearly marked apertures and colourful signage to guide customers. Importantly, the quad bin includes a dedicated food waste stream, ensuring the centre complies with current Simpler Recycling regulations.
Each bin is topped with a pyramid lid and personalised with a vinyl of the shopping centre's logo, turning functional infrastructure into a branded asset.
The Derby Double Recycling Bins have been placed next to parcel lockers throughout the centre, addressing the specific challenge of packaging waste from click-and-collect services. With just two streams, general waste and paper and card, this bin makes it easy for customers to dispose of packaging responsibly right where they collect their parcels.
The same navy-blue finish and design creates visual consistency across the entire waste system. By putting these bins in the right place at the right time, the centre has made sustainable disposal easy and convenient.
As Boston's premier shopping destination with a diverse mix of national brands and independent retailers, Pescod Square is committed to providing visitors with a responsible, welcoming space.
Broxap’s recycling bins reinforces that commitment, demonstrating that a thriving town centre can balance commerce with genuine care for the community and the environment.
