D+H UK provided a natural smoke ventilation system as part of a system upgrade at Ledgard Bridge Mill apartment block.

D+H UK supplied and installed a number of control panels to operate pre-existing vents within the building. The new systems operate various smoke vents including ground floor glazed louvres, high level atrium vents, smoke shaft inlets, head of shaft dampers, head of stair vents and end of corridor windows. D+H UK also supplied and installed the EN certified F100 dome vent as part of the upgraded systems.

Once smoke has been detected in the common area the local AOV will trigger open, drawing the smoke out of the building. The system can then be reset from the local call point unit. The vents will automatically close once the fire floor has been reset.

Natural ventilation switches have been installed on the upper floor to allow the residents operation of the vents if required. Rain sensors will automatically close the vents if rain is detected.
