Type of works: installation of Omnisports Speed Badminton Kits.

Members of the David Lloyd leisure club in Teesside can now enjoy a game of badminton on a purpose-made surface thanks to two new Omnisports Speed Badminton Kits from Tarkett. The Badminton Kit is an innovative idea designed to make life easier for clubs and local authority centres where a wide range of sports are offered. Mixed-use sports halls often suffer from an excess of playing marks on a shared surface that can reduce comfort and create confusion for participants. Tarkett’s Badminton Kit removes these problems by providing a bespoke surface with the correct markings and improved safety and support, with optimum slide control.

As part of Tarkett’s new Omnisports range, the Badminton Kit is a PVC flooring that deforms at the point of impact. The highly cellularised foam backing has an extremely dense cellular structure providing unrivalled acoustic comfort and ideal impact absorption, while the TopClean XP surface treatment helps protect against scratches, sole marks and rubber stains.

The Badminton Kit includes 1 fully marked court. Welding on both sides of the sheets enables the strength of the joints to be guaranteed for multiple manipulations, and the whole kit is packed in a 15m roll, 6.66m wide. Combined with Tarkett’s High-Speed Unroller, installation and rolling up of the badminton kit is quick and simple which is another bonus for busy sports centres.
