As specialists in value engineered post box solutions, Post Boxes UK remains a top choice for architects, new property developers, contractors and sub-contractors in the country.
When asked to create a bespoke communal mailbox for a newly built apartment block in Durham, the team were delighted to step up to the challenge, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.
The Brief
The client had a specific design and layout in mind for this project. The brief included 150 modular mailboxes with individual locks, distinctive outline engraved numbering and a specialist bronze finish to complement the interiors of the prestigious residential development.
To ensure floor space was not compromised, wall recessed letterboxes were the obvious choice, and for this installation, Post Boxes UK specified their best-selling H260-1 Horizontal Letterbox.
The Best Postbox For The Job
The H260-1 is a compact mailbox designed to accommodate A4 sized documents without folding. It conforms to European Norm EN13724 and the Secured by Design Homes Guide 2019, making it ideal for mixed-use developments, and it is fully customisable in over 200 RAL colours.
Thanks to its space-saving design, the H260-1 post box is ideal for large configurations of 100 units and more. With its smooth, clean lines and polished finish, this mailbox complements all modern interiors, and its anti-fishing aperture provides peace of mind in shared mail delivery environments.
It is the perfect choice for apartment blocks, communal office spaces, and student accommodations and an affordable option for developers on a budget.
Design To Delivery
This project was a supply and delivery contract with the client choosing to install themselves, so Post Boxes UK needed to work closely with the site developer to ensure just-in-time delivery. The team designed and specified three built-to-order banks, each with a 40mm recessed trim surround, and supplied them in three-phased deliveries to ensure seamless integration with the interior design schedule.
With the mailboxes supplied in pre-assembled banks, it was simply a case of unpacking, lifting into place, and sliding the units into the internal structural support. The 40mm trim ensured a neat finish between the structural opening and the postbox bank and guaranteed a professional finish.
From design to delivery, Post Boxes UK remained in close contact with the client to ensure it provided a central mailbox system that was stylish, functional and exceeded expectations. Staging deliveries allowed PBUK to transport the custom postboxes directly to the site, offer an exclusive anodic bronze finish at a substantial discount, and complete the project on time and within budget.
The client was delighted with the end product, the quality of the mailboxes, and the service provided by Post Boxes UK.
