A refreshed washroom area with larger changing room cubicles to help meet demand.

The project
Denbigh Leisure Centre is a sports and swimming centre in the heart of Denbigh. The centre is open seven days a week and provides access to a swimming pool, sports hall, fitness suite, gymnasium and all-weather pitch for both members and pay as you go customers.

The challenge
In 2016 the Council agreed to fund a £250,000 revamp of the Centre to refresh the previously outdated facilities and Venesta were chosen for the washroom and changing room section of the refurbishment.

Due to increased public demand, the existing washroom area had become worn out from heavy usage. As a result, Denbigh Leisure Centre requested a washroom cubicle that would withstand high volumes of traffic on a daily basis, be hygienic, resistant to water and vandalism and include a smart, bright colour to maximise space.

The solution
Fusion cubicles were specified in Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) for both the changing rooms and toilets as it's an easy to clean, durable material that's suitable in both wet and dry environments. It adheres to public health and safety standards, without the need for constant maintenance.

The Fusion cubicles are the ideal range for changing rooms due to their slimline frame and increased door allowance, which not only holds great visual appeal but enables easier access in and out of the cubicle.

Fusion's metal frame fixes directly into floor mounting blocks making the toilet and changing cubicles supremely strong and secure. An ideal solution for high footfall washrooms such as these.

With a range of 34 laminate finishes to choose from, both the toilet and changing cubicles were specified in a bright yellow laminate to create bright, fun and modern public washroom and changing room areas.

The changing room benches specified for the renovation are manufactured using hardwearing solid beechwood slats, to withstand the heavy-duty use in the wettest of environments.

Not stopping there, Denbigh Leisure Centre also specified their pre-plumbed panelling system, Vepps, for their toilet cubicles. With a range of industry-leading sanitaryware to choose from pre-plumbed and tested the toilets to each unit. This not only made for speedy installation but also offers the end user added peace of mind.

Vepps helps make ongoing maintenance much simpler thanks to the 90-degree linear bearing hinges on the access panels. Duct space is concealed and inaccessible, helping to keep Denbigh Leisure Centre's visitors and staff safe at all times.
