Diespeker works with porcelain for Fenwick

Diespeker is well-known for their work with terrazzo, marble and granite, but a recent project for Fenwick called on the company’s skills with porcelain tiling.

An iconic London retail business, Fenwick has been trading from New Bond Street since JJ Fenwick bought his first building there in 1891 and introduced a new retailing concept to the capital – the department store. Since then the company has expanded to include stores in York, Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury, as well as taking the role of flagship store at Brent Cross when it opened in 1976.

As part of recent refurbishment work, Fenwick replaced the porcelain tiling in the entrance. Looking for a specialist to carry out the intricate tiling work, Diespeker was recommended by Brady Williams Studios, who we have worked with previously for the elegant flooring at Fischers Viennese-style café in Marylebone.

Diespeker’s team laid approximately 170m² of tiles including the curved on-plan stainless steel feature strips set into the floor to form two decorative circles. The entrance is now once again a stylish and elegant welcome for the Fenwick customer.
