Chelsea FC are an internationally renowned football club, based in London. ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems specialists were approached to analyse data and recommend functional entrance solutions.

Challenge

As part of a continuous improvement schedule implemented by Club directors, automatic door operators were sought for existing pedestrian access points into 2 executive lounges and one
of the premium hospitality lounges.

External and internal doors used by guests were identified as being ideal for modernization to improve guest experience and accessibility.

Requirements

•Upgrade manually operated ’push and pull’ doors to fully automated.
•Enhance emergency functionality of entrances, replacing panic bars where applicable.
•Reduce avoidable energy losses.
•Improve internal and external aesthetic.

Products Used

•2 x SW300 Automatic Swing Door Systems, with custom paintwork reflecting the club colours, for internal entrances into Speedie and Spackman Executive lounges.

•1 x ASSA ABLOY Security Door for external entrance to Champions Club lounge, where matchday experience packages are hosted, with SW300 automatic operator and activation sensor package.

Result

External door enhances security, and delivers panic functionality required. All door leaves and frames - painted to club colour specification - automatically open inwards, and offer the capacity to be manually pushed open in panic scenarios.

The SW300 is an intelligent, heavy duty electromechanical swing door operator. Offering a slim profile 70 mm cover design, the operator allows panic breakout in both directions, and resets automatically.
