The project.

Dublin Landings is a 1,000,000 sq. ft. commercial and residential development overlooking the river Liffey in the heart of the regenerated Dublin Docklands. It boasts 5 state-of-the-art office buildings, modern apartments, a boutique hotel, retail and leisure space plus much more.

The challenge.

A recent survey by Orbital Systems confirmed 10% of job-seeking millennials now consider shower facilities a crucial factor in their decision to take a job. With several leisure facilities, including 4 gyms, in the immediate vicinity of the development, it was a requirement to offer high quality showering facilities that would also guarantee user privacy.

Venesta approved installers, Crofton Interiors, were appointed to fit durable, easy to maintain shower cubicles that look great too, ensuring all tenants would have the very best working environment available to them.

The solution.

Unity Full Height shower cubicles were specified in the basement shower area of Dublin Landings. With minimal floor and ceiling clearances and flush fronts, Unity Full Height ensures maximum privacy for end users.

A sturdy, waterproof and easy to maintain material was required for the 19 new shower cubicles, so Solid Grade Laminate (SGL) was specified. Also impact, scratch and heat resistant, SGL is an ideal choice for busy washroom facilities such as these at Dublin Landings. To complement the modern décor of the room, Venesta’s popular light grey laminate ‘Cloud’ was selected for the full height shower cubicles creating a bright, fresh and calm environment.

The discreet and robust satin anodised aluminium flip indicator bolts, faceplates and internal mortice locks feature a unique emergency release mechanism. This is a key consideration for high footfall washroom areas, as quick and safe access can be gained in the event of an emergency without causing damage to the cubicles.

Unity’s stainless steel and satin anodised aluminium hardware is durable and corrosion resistant, ideal for commercial shower areas. Some of the cubicles' rise and fall butt hinges were set to fall open, allowing office staff to easily identify vacant shower cubicles.
