Grand Design Blinds were contacted to install blinds for a new eco-house in Oxfordshire. The client required Duette pleated blinds, all hidden away in roof recesses so they are almost invisible when retracted.
Grand Design Blinds designed the recesses and they were made by the clients excellent builders. The blinds were provided for folding, sliding doors and large triangular glazing in the house.
The multiple doors came from Germany and hinged inwards, causing difficulty in achieving enough height between the steel lintel and the heads of the doors to accommodate the recess boxes and blinds. The dormer windows had a similar problem but this was overcome at the first attempt and the clients were delighted with the results. This project provided a prime example of a complex installation, requiring forethought and planning by both supplier and clients, with the end result being very positive.
