Dyson Airblade™ Hand Dryer: New Machine Added to Range

More than ever, architects and designers recognise the need for environmentally responsible design. Dyson introduces the latest iteration of the Airblade™ hand dryer in White. Drying hands in just 10 seconds, the White Airblade™ hand dryer is a sustainable, hygienic hand-drying solution to reduce carbon footprint and costs in any building.

From hotels and restaurants to universities and airports, businesses recognise that sustainability isn’t just about being energy efficient. Reducing overall carbon emissions is also important. The Dyson Airblade™ is the first and only hand dryer to receive the Carbon Reduction Label from the Carbon Trust. In fact, the machine has a 70% smaller carbon footprint than towels*, helping facilities reduce their environmental impact.

Powered by the Dyson digital motor, the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer creates a high-speed sheet of unheated air to scrape hands dry in just 10 seconds, using up to 80% less energy than warm air hand dryers. Unlike warm air hand dryers, the Dyson Airblade™ hand dryer doesn’t rely on evaporation to dry hands. Instead, a HEPA filter removes 99.9% of bacteria from the air used to dry hands.

*Data from Madson, 2007 report [Life Cycle Assessment of Tissue Products, prepared for Kimberly Clark. Environmental Resources Management]: A workplace with 50 employees, 3 dries per person per day, 150 dries per day, 260 days a year, 12.48 gCO2e per dry for virgin paper towels. Additional data: Transport and emissions factors for Airblade™ used for the United Kingdom, 10 second dry time based on NSF protocol, calculations include standby, Airblade manufacture use AB03 primary manufacturer data and 5 year Airblade™guarantee period, 3.29gCO2e per dry.
