European product approval for TLX Gold

European product approval for TLX Gold

TLX Gold, the two-in-one breathable multi-foil and roofing underlay has been awarded European Technical Approval (ETA), which is valid and recognised in the UK and all EEA countries, by the European Organisation for Technical Approvals (EOTA).

Hot on the heels of Web Dynamics’ achievement of LABC Registered System Status for the TLX range of multi-foils, TLX Gold’s attainment of an ETA is further recognition of the product’s success and will deliver peace of mind to many Local Authorities who have been keen to approve the use of TLX Gold.

An ETA is a favourable technical assessment of a product’s fitness for an intended uses. It goes further than a BBA (British Board of Agrément) certificate as it tests to demanding European standards and allows Web Dynamics to use the much recognised CE marking** on TLX Gold. The award, by the Deutsches Institut fûr Bautechnik (DIBt) in Berlin, a member of the EOTA, is valid for five years.

Mark Seddon, sales director of Web Dynamics said: “We chose to apply for an ETA rather than a BBA as we know TLX Gold has great suitability for building projects across Europe. This product approval demonstrates once again that TLX multi-foils are tried and trusted approved solutions in the market.

“With better thermal performance never far from specifiers’ minds we think TLX Gold’s credentials speak load and clear. Whether a product is judged on third party approval or client testimonials we believe we have all bases covered and that TLX Gold really is a product to watch this year.”

TLX Gold is a unique product with applications throughout the building sector. From social housing and public use to listed buildings and housing refurbishment its versatility and ease of use has been recognised by many Local Authorities.

The product controls water vapour and air movement – allowing a building to `breathe’ and delivers a comfortable and energy efficient environment. It also reflects heat back into a building to conserve maximum energy and is ideal for use in traditionally hard to insulate buildings. Responding to changes in the environment, the vapour permeability of TLX Gold will also increase when humidity increases and vice versa when humidity falls.

Manufactured in the UK the TLX range of multi-foil insulation is fast and simple to install and Web Dynamics’ technical team will provide advice on which insulation construction to use. The company is happy to provide U-value and condensation risk calculations and answer queries concerning specification or installation of any of the TLX range.
