NewMotion provided electric vehicle charging points for FC St Pauli in Hamburg, Germany.
The football club aimed to communicate social responsibility, whilst also promoting ecological projects.
The club hired Hamburg-based artist Rebelzer to produce a street art installation behind the charge points in order to increase local media attention and spotlight their new electric charging points.
Due to the customisation offering provided by NewMotion, the charge points were also delivered in the official club colour, red.
Drivers with no electric charge cards were also able to receive adhoc access for the launch by directly calling NewMotion, allowing them to easily initiate charge sessions to be paid for via the NewMotion app.
St. Pauli wanted to showcase the direction the football club is heading - focusing on taking steps to reach new sustainability milestones.
“We not only want to meet our social responsibility milestones at FC St. Pauli, but we also want promote ecological projects - adding graffiti behind the charge points allowed us to showcase this more, and bring a splash of colour to the location . Our dream is that we see EVs driving through the neighbourhood, all operated with green electricity.” — Ewald Lienen, Technical Director of FC St. Pauli
